marriage records

I need to find out if someone is married (I believe they got married in 2006 in theUK).But all I have is a name.
How do I go about it?

Do you have the name of the spouse and the area in which you think they may have been married?

If so, you can type both names in to google which will bring up a link to the UK register of births, marriges and deaths and their specific entry.

I live in the UK, I don't have any access to public records but I can do my best to try and search the UK registers online.

Just let me have a name, approximate date and which part of the UK you think the marriage may have taken place, I will do my best.
